There is no denying that Disneyland is a magical place, but Mickey Mouse’s giant castle is not officially the happiest place on Earth. The top stop belongs to Finland.

The World Happiness Report is published every couple of years. Before you ask . . . this is not something I made up, it is 100% true. The report measures six different factors of happiness in a country's population:

GDP – how much money does the country make per year
Social Support – the quality of support the country offers to help its people (eg. Education systems, free healthcare, benefits, ect.)
Healthy Life Expectancy – on average, how long do the people live for
Freedom – how much freedom do the people have to have their own choices
Generosity – how much money and time do the people give to charity
Corruption Levels – do the people trust their government

The latest report came out in 2020, and as you can see, the Northern European countries dominate the charts as the happiness nations on the planet:

Finland
Denmark
Switzerland
Iceland
Netherlands

And, if you’re wondering what the unhappiest country is on the planet, last place goes to Afghanistan.
