Hello, my name is James.
Now that I am older and stopped wearing embarrassing jumpers I write and illustrate children’s books. Some of them might have even sold more than nine copies . . .
It all began when I started writing and illustrating my first children’s book, The Grotty Spoon, back in 2010. I’d jump out of bed at 6am every morning, writing something, then draw something, then go to work and catch up on sleep. It seems that I’ve caught the bug and cannot stop typing, drawing, scribbling, doodling, daydreaming, and giggling every time I think of something funny.
I specialise in silliness (but you’ll know that already if you’ve read any of my books). 99.9% of my drawings are black and white with a touch of shading, but I’ve been known to do some colouring in with the help of a computer.
When I am not typing/drawing I play bass guitar in a non-boring swing band. I also love reading all sorts of books and post short reviews on Goodreads, if you’re interested.
I live in a quiet little community on the borders of North Wales with my lovely wife, her collection of cuddly toys, various computers and several guitars.
